Heart of Scotland Charity Digs is a Scottish-based metal detecting group that organises fundraising events in support of local registered charities, while promoting responsible metal detecting and strong community values. What began as a shared passion for the hobby has grown into a supportive network of detectorists committed to making a positive difference across Scotland.
Our organised fundraising digs bring together people of all ages and experience levels — from complete beginners picking up a detector for the first time to experienced hobbyists with years of knowledge behind them. Every event is built around enjoyment, learning, and mutual respect, ensuring that both the hobby and the heritage we explore are treated with care.
We place a strong emphasis on best practice, including correct recovery methods, responsible land use, and positive engagement with landowners. By working closely with farmers, local communities, and registered charities, we aim to ensure our events are both enjoyable and beneficial to the wider community.
Heart of Scotland Charity Digs is not a registered charity. We organise fundraising events and donate proceeds to registered charities selected by the landowner.
